SBK-X: Superbike World Championship is a motorcycle racing game developed by Milestone s.r.l. and published by Black Bean Games in 2010. The game features three modes of gameplay: the arcade mode, the simulation mode and the multiplayer mode. Also for the first time in the series the game features the Superstock and Supersport championships. There are also the new career mode, composed of eight years, starting at the STK.

Gameplay

Arcade mode

SBK-X features an intuitive mode named Arcade mode in which the player does not requires the precision and timing as in the simulation modes. The player also has at disposal the boost button which enhances the speed of the motorcycle during straights. In this mode the player may enter in the Story mode, in which he has to accomplish some objectives which include overtaking a number of adversaries or finishing at a certain position to complete.

Simulation mode

The simulation mode is focused on the more hardcore gamers who want to feel how is to really handle a motorcycle. However, the player may opt to play at a lower level of realism by changing the level of simulation to low or medium. This mode features the quick race, championship as well as the new career mode, in which the player has to rise through the ranks of the series to become a champion.

This mode also features an evolving track, which means that during the early moments of the weekend, the track still lacks the darker strips. As the bikes pass through the track, its grip raises thanks tires’ wearing out, creating a darker strip in the race line. Also, when it is raining the parts of the track where bikes pass most starts to dry up.

Career

In the Career mode, the players may create his own avatar and start at the lowest category, the Superstock. By finishing at the teams’ desired position, showing skill on the track, the player gains reputation points which are needed to attract attention of high profile teams and going to the other categories. This mode can be played for eight years and the final objective is to became a champion.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is a 2010 racing video game in development by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and iPhone. A version for Wii is also developed by Exient. The game will support 3D-display output on PlayStation 3 and Windows. Hot Pursuit has been described as a “revolutionary” addition to the Need for Speed franchise and is the 16th installment of the franchise, scheduled for release in North America on 16 November 2010, and in Europe on 19 November.

Gameplay :

Hot Pursuit goes back to the Need for Speed series’ roots and takes on the gameplay style of earlier “Hot Pursuit”-titles in the Need for Speed franchise with exotic cars and high-speed police chases. It is primarily inspired by the original Need for Speed on 3DO. Hot Pursuit lets the player play as either a cop or a racer and will feature a full career mode for both roles. The relationship between the cops and racers is described as “a dog chasing down a rabbit” with the cops being more powerful compared to the racers. Each side has several power-ups including calling for roadblocks and radar jamming. The game takes place in fictional location called Seacrest County. It is entirely open-world and features over 100 miles (160 km) of open road and, as a reference, it is four times larger than Paradise City, the city of Burnout Paradise.

Hot Pursuit also features a new social interaction system called “Autolog” described as “Facebook for the game”. The game features both single-player and multiplayer game modes with up to eight players; as an option to live multiplayer racing, player can post records and achievements on the Autolog-feed for friends to see, which they then can try to beat. Autolog also contains an experience system called “Bounty”. So far the only game mode revealed is “Interceptor 1 vs 1?, where one cop chases one racer, but more game modes are to be revealed. Other features include the player being able to add custom soundtracks to the game.

Cars

The driving model of the game is described as “fun and accessible”. It is not as arcade-styled as Burnout Paradise, but far from a simulator. All cars in Hot Pursuit are licensed real-world supercars, and the carlist is described as “all the cars you dreamed of driving, in the way you dreamed of driving them”. Most cars will be available to both racers and cops, but a few will be exclusive to each side. Also exclusively featured in the Hot Pursuit is the Porsche 918 Spyder. Ferrari however, last seen in a Shift DLC-pack but notably absent from all other Need for Speed games since Hot Pursuit 2, will also be absent from Hot Pursuit.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a two-part video game currently being developed by EA’s Bright Light Studio and will be published by Electronic Arts. Part 1 of the game will be released on 16 November 2010 in the United States[6] and on 19 November 2010 in the United Kingdom, France, India and Australia [7] to coincide with the film’s release date. The game will be released on the Microsoft Windows, Nintendo DS, Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Mobile platforms.

Part 2 of the Deathly Hallows video game will be released in July 2011 to coincide with the film’s July 15, 2011 release date and will be available on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo DS, Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Mobile platforms.

Gameplay

The gameplay for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will be different from the previous games after developers decided the game required a new direction to suit its growing adult audience. The player will control the character Harry Potter from a third person over-the-shoulder camera, and will be played in the style of a third-person shooter. The Deathly Hallows: Part I game will include a progression system where Harry gains experience and can upgrade his spells.

Combat in Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will involve casting spells by tapping the buttons (each a different spell) on the d-pad. The player will be able to change the spells on the d-pad by going to the menu and selecting the weapon wheel. Spells that have so far been included in Deathly Hallows: Part I include Stupefy, Expelliarmus, Confringo, Confundo, Wingardium Leviosa, Protego, Expecto Patronum, Petrificus Totalus, Finite Incantatem (to free other wizards from Petrificus Totalus) and a Four-Points spell that points which way to go. The spells will also have an effect on enemies and the environment with the player being able to use Wingardium Leviosa to throw objects at other players or to clear paths and the Confundo spell being able to make the enemy fight for the player (which is used in a sniper point of view). Head shots will also be a feature in the game with the player being able to control Harry to aim a spell at their opponent’s head. Part of the combat sequences will involve the cover-based gameplay to protect themselves against their opponent until it has been destroyed.

Potions will once again be involved with the player being able to mix Exploding Fluid, Elixir of Life (used for regaining health), Felix Felicis and Polyjuice Potion (for stealth missions)

Kinect mode

Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will have side missons which uses Kinect for the Xbox 360.The missions include battling against Death Eaters and Snatchers in environments from the game. The two-player missions will be played in on-rails shooter mode, where the player casts spells through hand and body gestures. By progressing through the levels the player aims to achieve the highest score which is then posted on Xbox Live.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is an upcoming third person action-adventure video game in development by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and is a direct-sequel to Assassin’s Creed II with Ezio Auditore da Firenze returning as the main protagonist. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game are set to be released on November 16, 2010 in America and November 19, 2010 in Europe. Windows version is set to be released on March 26, 2011.

Gameplay

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood will keep its sandbox style gameplay in an open world of Italy. Like the previous installments, the gameplay’s core mechanics are based on parkour movements, crowd-blending stealth, assassinations and melee fighting system. However for the first time in the series, the game offers a multiplayer mode alongside 15 hours of singleplayer campaign.

Singleplayer

The player once again controls Ezio Auditore through the genetic memory of Desmond Miles using the Animus 2.0 (which is the game’s memory interface). It’s been confirmed there will be more modern day sequences featuring Desmond. As a Master Assassin, Ezio will have to reorganize his Brotherhood in Rome to fight against the Templars, now led by Cesare Borgia. (His father Rodrigo Borgia also returns, but not as the central antagonist.) Hence the new management system: the player can recruit new members by destroying any of twelve “Borgia towers” around Rome where papal troops are stationed, then rescuing disgruntled citizens in their districts from harassing guards. The player as Ezio can then send them to assignments around Europe or call them for support during missions (if they are not already occupied). Tasking the novice Assassins is essential to make them gain experience, and the player will be able to customize their appearance, skills and weapon training by spending the skill points they’ve earned. Although Ezio is a Master Assassin in this episode, his progression is not over and he will also have to master new gadgets, such as Leonardo da Vinci’s parachute, which can be used when jumping from tall buildings.

Having a “Brotherhood” will be a big factor in this game. Players will have the ability to control and customize your assassins by sending them on missions and earning skill points, which can then be spent to upgrade the weapons and armor of the assassins. The assassins can also assist the player throughout the game.

The player will have to rebuild Rome, which has fallen into ruins due to the corrupt rule of the Templars over the Papal States and concentrating all the wealth in the Vatican. Just like the village of Monteriggioni in Assassin’s Creed II, the player will be able to invest in the city to witness its evolution and unlock rewards.[8] The player will have to conquer and destroy Borgia’s towers to free city zones from the family’s influence.[7] Completing this unlocks new missions and opportunities. Rome is the biggest city ever created after the first two installments (Rome is three times bigger than Florence from Assassin’s Creed II[7]) and includes five varied districts: Vatican, Downtown, Tiber, Country and Antique. The players will be able to explore the entire city of Rome, visit a part of Naples, Spain and Monteriggioni.

The combat system has been upgraded to be faster and more dynamic. Striking first and offensive actions will be more deadly in Brotherhood than previous games where counter-attacks were the most efficient. This made the player wait until the AI strikes which slowed down the pace of fighting. The AI in this game is thus more aggressive and enemies can attack simultaneously. To dispatch them, Ezio can use melee and ranged weapons at the same time as well, introducing the hidden pistol in combat. It has been shown that Ezio can throw axes and spears toward his enemies. There are new enemy archetypes in addition to those seen in Assassin’s Creed II such as horsemen, arquebusiers, papal guards and others. New ways to kill have been added, one technique shown has been where Ezio stabs his enemy with his sword then shoots another enemy standing right beside him at the same time.

Horses play a larger role in Brotherhood, not only used as a means of transport (inside the city for the first time) but as a component of acrobatic sequences and advanced combat as well, allowing ranged weapons to be used while riding them. Brotherhood also introduced various types of horse-related assassinations, featuring horse-to-horse assassinations. There will be environmental objects like the flower pot in Assassin’s Creed II to move faster inside the city, as well as new objects such as merchandise lifts to quickly climb up high buildings or structures.

Multiplayer

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is the first game in the main series to feature full multiplayer mode on all platforms. The unique multiplayer mode was heralded by many at E3 2010 where it was showcased. It received recognition from the media. GameTrailers awarded it as the Best Multiplayer Game of the show.

The players are Templars in training at the Abstergo facility. They use the animi (plural for animus) seen at the beginning of Assassin’s Creed II to access memories of Assassins and then to acquire their skills using the “bleeding effect”. There will be various game modes and different maps, including the areas from the first and the second game like Florence, as well as new maps like Rome, Castel Gandolfo and Siena. The gameplay in multiplayer mode is similar to the core gameplay of the series, as players are required to use their assassination and stealth skills. Players earn points by completing each assassination without being detected and escaping after each kill. Breaking the cover makes player visible to other gamers and makes them easier to assassinate.

The multiplayer mode also includes leveling system, which allows players to unlock rewards by earning EXP points during the matches and gaining new levels. Players can then unlock abilities, perks and streaks. Abilities are active skills, which can be used again only after a cooldown time. Perks are passive skills, which can be equipped before the match and they are active all the time. Streaks are bonuses awarded for reaching certain number of kills or deaths.

The multiplayer beta was announced at E3 2010 and it will be exclusive for PlayStation 3 users. It began on 4 October 2010, with early access for Playstation Plus subscribers from 27 September, and ended on 18 October 2010. Three maps have been confirmed for the beta: Rome, Castel Gandolfo and Siena.

Gameplay

Overview

Black Ops is a first-person shooter. The player assumes the role of a foot soldier and thus has access to various firearms, of which two at a time can be carried, as well as explosives such as grenades and other equipment to fight enemies. When players are close enough to an enemy, they can perform a melee attack which ensures a one-hit-kill.

A character can be positioned in one of the three stances: standing, crouching, or prone; each affecting the character’s rate of movement, accuracy, and stealth. The player can directly dive prone from a standing position. The player can momentarily run faster before getting tired. When the character has taken damage, the screen glows red. Health regenerates by avoiding damage. When the character is within the blast radius of a live grenade, a marker indicates the direction of the grenade, helping the player to either flee or throw it back.

The game features weapons like crossbows (with alternative explosive ammunition), Dragon’s Breath rounds and ballistic knives. Brutality and gore are present, with a dismemberment feature.
Campaign

The player assumes the role of various characters during the single-player campaign, changing perspectives throughout the story. The playable characters are special forces operatives conducting black operations behind enemy lines. In this way, the player’s characters will have their own traits such as voices and shadows.

Each mission features a series of objectives that are displayed on the head up display, which marks the direction and distance towards and from such objectives. The player is accompanied by friendly troops who cannot be issued orders.

Although primarily a first-person shooter, the player will get to pilot a Hind helicopter and guide friendly troops from an SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft.

The campaign is filled with scripted cinematic moments. One of them is a bullet time effect during the “Victor Charlie” level, activated when the player fires toward the last enemy of a Viet Cong squad.

Multiplayer

The online multiplayer mode of Black Ops retains the experience points and unlockable reward system that has been kept since Call of Duty 4. The game’s multiplayer focuses on socialization and customization.[10] “Create-a-Class 2.0? will allow enhanced personalization with appearance items as well as upgradable perks[12]: weapons will be extensively customizable with clan tag writing, emblems, attachments and camouflage painting. Even reticles can be modified. There will be more than one style for an attachment, which allows for a lot more personalized weaponry; for example, the player can choose between a Red Dot Sight or a Reflex Sight, both of which share the same traits only visually look different. Character models will depend on the first tier perk instead of the weapon’s type. Furthermore, face paints can be unlocked.

A currency system has been implemented allowing players to buy weapons, accessories and clothes. Players can gamble with their “COD Points” in a free-for-all based playlist called “Wager Match”, which is composed of four game modes. Time limited objectives known as “Contracts” can be purchased to gain more currency and experience points. New custom killstreak rewards include RC explosive cars, guided missiles and controllable attack helicopters. For the first time in the series, clips from online gameplay can be recorded. Players will be able to play alone or with friends against AI opponents in “Combat Training” with a separate progression system.

Some PC specific features that were taken away from Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 will return, such as lean, mod tools, the developer console and dedicated servers. Dedicated servers will be exclusively provided by Game Servers. Steam will be the exclusive platform for Black Ops on PC, so the game will be protected by Valve Anti-Cheat.

The zombie mode of World at War will return as a four-player online and two-player split screen co-op mode. Limited editions of the game will offer four zombies maps from World at War.
The Wii version of the game will include in-game voice chat. This is the first Call of Duty title to include the voice chat feature for the Wii. Nintendo and PDP have partnered to release the first headset to be used with the Wii known as PDP’s Headbanger Headset.

Sonic Colors or Sonic Colours (see spelling differences) (???? ????, Sonikku Karazu?) is an upcoming game for the Wii and Nintendo DS. It was first announced on May 26, 2010 in a press release by Sega for Italy, and it included a teaser trailer. The game is set to release on November 11, 2010 in Australia, November 12, 2010 in Europe, November 16, 2010 in North America, and November 18, 2010 in Japan.

Gameplay :

Sonic Colors sees players playing as Sonic the Hedgehog, using a similar moveset to that featured in Sonic Unleashed, as he traverses each planet to rescue the Wisps from Dr. Eggman. The Wii version of Sonic Colors will use a mixture of 2D and 3D perspectives, akin to the day stages from Sonic Unleashed, while the Nintendo DS version will take advantage of the dual screens of the handheld, similar to the Sonic Rush series.

The Wii version can be played with the Wii Remote, Wii Remote and Nunchuck, Wii Classic Controller, and Nintendo GameCube Controller. The DS version is primarily controlled by the d-pad and buttons, but in some parts you can use the touch screen.

During the game, players can use the power of the colored energy obtained from Wisps, which are unlocked as the game progresses, in order to traverse the environments and explore new areas. There will be a total of 8 Wisps in the Wii version and 6 in the DS version, with some Wisps being exclusive to each version.

The Wii version features a ‘Sonic Simulator’ mode, in which players control ‘Sonic-bots’ through a series of challenges, either alone or with competitive or co-operative multiplayer, with two Sonic-bots (or a player’s Mii) able to combine Wisp powers. The DS version features Special Stages, similar to Sonic Rush, which require players to collect spheres of a certain color, as well as Time Attack and competitive multiplayer modes. The game will also feature online leaderboards for both versions of the game.

Wisps

* White Boost – Allows Sonic to boost at any time.
* Cyan Laser – Turns Sonic into a laser which can bounce off surfaces and travel through power lines.
* Yellow Drill – Lets Sonic drill through soft ground and water. Sonic loses a life if he is still underground when the power-up runs out.
* Orange Rocket – Blasts Sonic upward to tremendous heights, followed by a sky dive back to solid ground.

Wii version exclusive

* Pink Spikes – Turns Sonic into a pink spike ball which sticks to walls and ceilings.
* Green Hover – Sonic can hover and perform dashes across lines of rings.
* Blue Cube – Sonic is able to switch blue blocks and blue rings, opening new routes. When using it and landing on ground, nearby enemies can be destroyed.
* Purple Frenzy – Turns Sonic into a berserker that chomps through anything in its path, and increases in size every time it eats an enemy or obstacle.

DS version exclusive

* Red Burst – Turns Sonic into a fireball and allows him to burst in any direction.
* Violet Void – Gives Sonic the ability to float and to suck up enemies into his vortex.

Donkey Kong Country Returns, known as Donkey Kong Returns in Japan, is a side-scrolling 2.5D platform game developed by Retro Studios, set to be released by Nintendo for the Wii console on November 21, 2010 in North America, on December 3, 2010 in Europe, and during the winter months of December 2010 to February 2011 in Japan. It is the series’ first traditional home console installment since Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, and also the first Donkey Kong Country entry not to involve Rare during the development.

Gameplay

Players take control of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, with many traditional elements of the Donkey Kong Country series returning, including mine cart levels, swinging from vine to vine, collecting bananas, and the golden “KONG” letters. There will also be levels with the characters and foreground environments appearing as silhouettes, spawning several new gameplay mechanics. The multiplayer mode enables players to simultaneously control one character each. If one player dies in two player mode, he can be brought back by hitting a DK Barrel that floats into view, similar to New Super Mario Bros. Wii. To avoid problems arising from differences in player skills, Diddy can hop on Donkey’s back to take on a more passive role, while his jetpack can be used to make some of his partner’s jumps easier. As in past games, Donkey can pound the ground to defeat enemies and unveil secret items, as can Diddy. The game will have two control schemes, with the standard system using the Wii Remote in conjunction with the Nunchuk, as well as a more classical approach employing the Wii Remote held sideways, both of which use motion controls for the ground pound move. In addition to common series elements like secrets and unlockables, there will also be a time attack mode. At least one animal buddy, Rambi, has been confirmed to appear in the game

The PowerShot G12 is also compatible with a new optional Lens Filter Adapter, which extends with the lens when using the zoom to offer full coverage throughout the zoom range.

The HS System: Premium Canon image quality, even in low light
The PowerShot G12 is the first G-series model to feature Canon’s HS System – a powerful combination of a high-sensitivity 10.0 Megapixel CCD sensor and high-performance DIGIC 4 processor designed to provide outstanding image quality in all lighting conditions, including low light.

The inclusion of the HS System allows shooting at higher ISOs with excellent image quality – enabling users to capture exceptional images in all conditions. This extended ISO range allows users to shoot darker scenes without engaging the flash or using a tripod – capturing correctly-exposed images using only the available light. In situations when use of the flash is necessary, a higher ISO will enable users to extend its effective range and illuminate the subject more effectively. Higher ISOs also enable users to utilise faster shutter speeds – freezing motion to capture moving subjects with a reduced risk of blur.

Allowing users precise control over the ISO level, the dedicated ISO dial now allows adjustments in 1/3 stop increments.  In addition to this, a new Auto ISO level adjustment feature allows users to pre-configure the maximum ISO setting they wish to use during shooting and specify how the camera selects the ISO to obtain the best balance between image quality and shutter speed.

In very dark situations, Low Light mode can be used to extend the ISO range up to ISO 12800, with the ability for users to control ISO and white balance to accurately capture the ambience of a dimly-lit environment. Users can also capture fast-moving action with the ability to shoot at up to 4.2 shots per second.

Genuine Canon Lens with Hybrid IS
The PowerShot G12 features a premium 28mm wide-angle 5x optical zoom lens, allowing users to capture sweeping landscapes and get closer to distant subjects during shooting. Benefiting from Canon’s extensive heritage in lens design, the lens has been developed using the same processes and quality standards employed to manufacture Canon’s range of EF lenses, ensuring the capture of sharp, detailed shots while still having a compact size so the lens can retract completely into the camera body when not in use.

Counteracting camera shake and enabling photographers to capture shots in darker conditions, the PowerShot G12’s optical Image Stabilizer allows shooting at shutter speeds approximately 4-stops slower than would be otherwise necessary to achieve a sharp shot. Also included in the PowerShot G12 is Canon’s Hybrid IS technology to increase the effectiveness of the optical Image Stabilizer when shooting macro subjects. The PowerShot G12 can focus as close as 1cm to a subject, and the slightest lateral movement of the photographer can negatively affect image quality, making it difficult to capture blur-free shots without the assistance of a tripod. Hybrid IS counteracts unintentional shift and angular movement – two kinds of camera shake that become particularly pronounced as image magnification increases.

Flexible shooting
Flexible shooting and playback is provided by the PowerShot G12’s 7.0cm (2.8”) high-resolution Vari-Angle PureColor II VA LCD screen. The rotating Vari-Angle design offers easy framing from a range of angles, such as when shooting at ground level or overhead. To accommodate a range of shooting styles, the PowerShot G12 also features an optical viewfinder (OVF) with diopter adjustment, allowing users to match the OVF to their vision. After image capture, photographers can also utilise the newly integrated RGB histogram during playback, allowing them to instantly check the exposure of a shot in detail.

Take complete control
As well as offering Full Manual control and a range of semi-automatic modes, the addition of a new Front Dial provides swift and convenient access to settings during shooting. Users can either prioritise the Front Dial or the rear Multi-Control Dial as the main way of controlling the camera, or use a combination of both. For example, the Front Dial can be set to control aperture in AV mode while the Multi-Control Dial controls white balance or shooting aspect ratio, or it can be used independently, with the rear Multi-Control Dial disabled to prevent accidental changes to settings.

For advanced amateurs and professionals, the PowerShot G12 also shoots uncompressed RAW images and includes Canon’s Digital Photo Professional (DPP) software, providing the ability to edit images after capture. Sharing the same post-editing environment as the EOS system, the PowerShot G12 fits seamlessly into a photographer’s existing workflow.

Electronic level and Multi-Aspect shooting
To aid the capture of level horizons, the PowerShot G12 also features a new Electronic Level function. Using information from the camera’s acceleration sensor, an on-screen indicator allows users to check if the camera is level, working in either horizontal or vertical orientations to ensure level shots of portrait or landscape scenes. Multi-Aspect shooting in 3:2, 4:3, 1:1, 16:9 and 4:5 formats also allows photographers to shoot according to their subject and the intended use of the image, enabling them to choose which composition and result they want to capture as the image is taken and removing the need to post-process.

Stunning images, stunning video – HD movies with stereo sound
For the first time in a G-series model, the PowerShot G12 features 720p HD movie shooting (24fps) with stereo sound. Miniature Effect is also available in movie mode, adding a different dimension to video footage by shooting at a range of selectable slower frame rates for dramatic, compelling time-lapse-style videos which appear of model scale. An integrated HDMI port with CEC compatibility makes it simple for video and stills to be viewed on a HDTV and controlled directly using a compatible HDTV and remote control.

Capture scenes as you see them
Exceeding the limitations of conventional cameras the PowerShot G12 includes a new High Dynamic Range shooting mode (please see footnote 1), allowing the capture of high contrast scenes closer to how they appear to the user. While shooting on a tripod, the PowerShot G12 takes three different exposures of the same scene before analysing and combining shots in-camera to create a single image. The resulting shot captures highlight and shadow detail closer to how the photographer sees it.

As part of i-Contrast processing, the PowerShot G12 allows control over the amount of Dynamic Range correction which is applied in the camera to suppress highlight blow out and shadow detail loss in the final result. To allow photographers to brighten only shadowed areas of an image, Shadow Correction is included to brighten darker areas and reveal hidden detail in shadow regions.

To track subjects that are in motion, or to help achieve a creative composition, a new Tracking AF mode has been added to the PowerShot G12. This new mode gives photographers the ability to select objects from the centre of the frame and track them if they move, or if the frame is recomposed.

Extended shooting abilities
The PowerShot G12 offers comprehensive support for a wide range of accessories, expanding both the creative possibilities and providing enhanced results in certain shooting situations. A new lens filter adapter FA-DC58B attaches directly to the lens barrel ring, providing the ability to attach 58mm diameter Canon filters – such as a Circular Polarizer, Neutral Density, Protect and UV. The FA-DC58B is designed to move along with the lens while zooming, preventing vignetting at the wide-angle end of the zoom and providing filter coverage throughout the full optical zoom range of the lens.

The hot shoe provides compatibility with Canon’s range of EX Speedlites (please see footnote 2), enabling photographers to both increase the available flash power or use an external flash via a remote shoe cord (OC-E3) for creative off-camera lighting, or to experiment with different lighting techniques. An optional Waterproof Case provides protection at depths of up to 40 meters, allowing users to record deep-water experiences in stunning detail.

While the PowerShot G12 offers the freedom and flexibility of manual control, users can also achieve exceptional image quality using Smart Auto mode. Intelligently detecting the scene and selecting the optimum settings from 28 variables, Smart Auto uses Scene Detection Technology to provide the best results in all conditions – allowing both serious photographers and beginners to capture excellent images instantly.

Eye-Fi connected functions
Easy, wireless content transfers are supported by Eye-Fi connected functions, allowing remote uploads to image sharing websites such as CANON iMAGE GATEWAY. The camera features a dedicated Eye-Fi section within the User Interface, and disables the auto power-down function when the Eye-Fi card transmits data – allowing the easy transfer of content without interruption (please see footnote 3).

Other notable additions to the beta 1.4 version include:

An improved graphical user interface for Process mode.The ability to easily copy and paste processing settings from one image to another.Metadata is compliant with the Metadata Working Group (MWG) and supports IPTC Core, Extended and IIM. Support for XMP sidecar filesA Custom Metadata pane allows for presenting a specific set of data that is most important to the user.

Between the beta 1.4 test period and the final release date in early 2011, Simon Tipler, project manager for ACD Systems, said the company’s developers will be implementing user feedback, adjusting features and performance to streamline the workflow process, and performing quality checks.
“We know photographers who use Mac systems are eagerly anticipating Pro for Mac because they have been integral to its development,” said Rahman. “They will be very pleased when they see the final product.”
